The world is increasingly multipolar and American economic and military capabilities are increasingly constrained. Europe must stand up on its own, if it is to survive radical Islamist terror and Russian revanchism.
Most Western analysts are incorrect in their view on Russian foreign policy intentions. Very often, they focus solely on Russia’s western side and completely ignore Russia’s Far East. This backgrounder seeks to change that. After all, Russia without its Far East is not Russia. It is Muscovy. And that’s not a country, it’s an existential target.
Recent reports indicate that the British intend to deploy their soon-to-be deployed aircraft carrier, the HMS Queen Elizabeth to far away Asia and the Falkland Islands. This is a mistake. In this piece, I argue that Britain is the strongest military force in Europe. It must focus its limited but powerful military on stabilizing Europe.
