BRANDON J. WEICHERT | THE WEICHERT REPORT The Trump Administration is being optimistic in public about our ability to both … More
In my recent op-ed for American Greatness, I was the first of apparently many to make the case that Trump’s gambit for Greenland was actually about denying China access to the Arctic Circle.
“Trump recognizes how unfairly our “partners” are treating us. He also exposed how insincere our trading partners were when they so readily declined his deal of true free trade. What’s more, he’s reinvigorating the image of the American president as a figure who commands–and deserves–the respect of foreign leaders, friend and foe alike.”
On 7 February 2017 I was interviewed by presenter Dan Damon of BBC’s World Update and was asked to debate Ottawa-based Dr. David Perry a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. The Russians have been taking more and more territory globally through a “salami-slice strategy.” Now, Russia has slowly expanded its presence near Alaska. They may actually be poised to lay claim to Spruce Island in Kodiak County Alaska. But, this has less to do with aims of reclaiming Alaska and more to do with their claims on the resource-rich Arctic. Read more to find out why.
The anti-globalization trend that allowed for Brexit, that elected Donald Trump, and that is empowering Marine La Pen in France and the AfD in Germany will soon hit Canada. Specifically, Alberta, the energy-rich province of Canada has long sought secession from Ottawa. In this piece I briefly detail how the Wildrose Party, Alberta’s secessionist Alt-Right party, is increasing its power and is poised to win the provincial election in 2019. This could also determine whether Alberta becomes America’s 51st state.
My next article over at American Greatness. Canada, once our bucolic neighbor to the north, has become the land where our greatest foes–like the terrible northern wind–may soon emanate from, due to Canadian Socialist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s open borders mania.
